BAD WEATHER LANDINGS FG-1D CORSAIR The pilot of the FG-1D standing on its landed with too close an interval on the plane ahead. In order to keep the other plane in sight, the pilot commenced a slight turn during his landing roll-out and ran right into a pile of snow which extended out about 20 feet from the side of the runway. Note: The FG-1D is a Corsair made by Goodyear Aircraft Corp. Akron, Ohio 1,704 of the FG-1 and 1A and 2,303 of the FG-1D were built. |
