This Warthog is from Pope AFB, NC. On a mission over Baghdad it took all of this battle damage, part of which included losing hydraulic pressure. The woman pilot said she had a choice of ejecting over Baghdad or trying to get back to base. She had no desire to eject into unknown, possibly enemy territory, so she nursed this aircraft back to base, a one-hour flight. |
