Taken from the Point Cook tower, taken in February 2001, showing the four different models of the C-130 used by the RAAF since 1958. Left to right, these are the J, H, E and A. The E and A models are from the RAAF Museum collection. The buildings in the background date from the World War I era - Point Cook, we believe, is the oldest continuously operating military airfield in the world. The hangars were erected near the water because many of the RAAF's early aircraft were seaplanes/flying boats.
