DJIBOUTI, Africa (Dec. 4, 2007) A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet from the Red Rippers of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 11 conducts bombing exercises at the Gordia bombing range off the coast of Djibouti. VFA-11 is embarked aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3. Combined Joint Task Force Ð Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) conducts operations in the region to prevent conflict, promote regional stability and protect coalition interests. |

Caribbean Sea (April 25, 2006) - An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Red Rippers" of Fighter Attack Squadron Eleven (VFA-11) breaks the sound barrier during an Air Power demonstration aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73). George Washington Carrier Strike Group is currently participating in Partnership of the Americas, a maritime training and readiness deployment of the U.S. Naval Forces with Caribbean and Latin American countries in support of the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) objectives for enhanced maritime security. |

Atlantic Ocean (Jan. 13, 2007) - An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Red Rippers" of Strike Fighter Squadron Eleven (VFA-11) touches down on the flight deck of USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), marking the first successful arrested landing aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier in more than a year. Truman is currently underway conducting flight deck certifications in the Atlantic Ocean. |
