IRAQ (Aug. 27, 2007) - An F/A-18C Hornet, assigned to the "Knighthawks" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 136, heads home during sunset over Iraq after completing a close air support mission in support of U.S. and coalition ground forces. VFA-136 is assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 embarked aboard nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Enterprise Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in support of maritime operations and the global war on terrorism. |

DJIBOUTI, Africa (Dec. 4, 2007) A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet from the Red Rippers of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 11 conducts bombing exercises at the Gordia bombing range off the coast of Djibouti. VFA-11 is embarked aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3. Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) conducts operations in the region to prevent conflict, promote regional stability and protect coalition interests. |

MEDITERRANEAN SEA (July 21, 2007) - An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Knighthawks" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 136 flies over the Mediterranean Sea during a unit-level training mission. VFA-136 is part of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 embarked aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). The Enterprise Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled six-month deployment in support of maritime security operations and the global war on terrorism. |
