POINT MUGU, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2007) - An E-2C Hawkeye, from Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117, displays the colorful markings of the Commander Air Group (CAG) aircraft assigned to the Wallbangers. VAW-117 returned home to Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu following its six-month deployment to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68). |

Pacific Ocean (Nov. 4, 2005) - An E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the "Wallbangers" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One One Seven (VAW-117), conducts a fly over during an airpower demonstration aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is currently conducting a "Tiger Cruise" and is returning from a regularly scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
